Terms & Conditions.

These Term & Conditions will apply from the point when a client and The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring agree a first appointment. It is the client’s responsibility to thoroughly read and understand all T&C’s and raise any questions prior to first fitting appointments.

1. BOOKING FEE & FITTINGS - The booking fee is non-refundable and is required to secure your bridal alterations slot in The Bobbins schedule. This fee does not cover any alterations or tailoring work and is separate from all alteration charges. The booking fee includes 

  • a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of four (4) bridal fitting appointments. 1x 45-minute first fit, 2x 30-minute follow ups (when required) ,1x 30-minute collection 

  • Insurance of your gown, dress bag and any additional accessories while they are on the premises 

  • Gown steaming on collection date.

The booking fee is strictly non-refundable, including but not limited to cancellations due to change of mind, postponement, or cancellation of the appointment/wedding or related events. If the Client cancels or fails to attend scheduled fittings without sufficient notice, The Bobbin is not obligated to offer rescheduled appointments or offer refunds. The booking fee excludes all alteration and tailoring services, materials, notions, or any garment-related costs, as well as any additional services not explicitly listed as part of the booking fee. Any additional fittings outside of the four included will incur a charge of £20 per 30minuets and are subject to availability. Every client must understand that although The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring will endeavor to complete all garment alteration within two fittings, this is not always possible. In some cases, and for a variety of reasons, multiple additional follow up appointments may be required. In these cases, clients must be aware that the additional follow-up appointments need to be scheduled within The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring’s fitting hours and ensure that all services can be completed prior to the agreed garment collection date.

2. WEIGHT LOSS AND/OR GAIN - Services provided by The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring are based on the measurements and pinning taken at the time of the client’s first fitting. The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring cannot be held responsible for dresses that do not fit properly due to weight loss or gain, pregnancy, surgery, or failure to wear the same shoes or undergarments worn at first fitting, etc. when booking , clients must inform The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring of anything already in place, or planned, that may influence body shape between your dress order/purchase date and garment collection. In some cases, if weight loss or gain cannot be maintained over a 14-week period, first fittings may be rescheduled to closer to the wedding date, please see rush fees for moving first fittings closer to your wedding date.

3. ADDITIONAL AJUSTMENTS - Any additional adjustments required after those agreed at the clients first fitting are chargeable. Alterations are charged at a standard rate, although week of wedding alterations and rush orders may incur a higher rate. The initial quote for services provided at first fitting is approximate and subject to change. Services cannot be cancelled once work has commenced and payment in full will be due once work is completed. Cancellation of services is only possible when no work has commenced and must be agreed with The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring.

4. HIGH RISK ALTERATIONS - The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring will execute the tailoring work as discussed during fittings. Please be aware that in some cases garments may be unalterable, as seams cannot always be opened or sewn. If a technique required to accomplish an alteration is deemed high-risk by The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring and the client chooses to proceed, this is done at the client's own risk. Techniques and approaches to bridal garment tailoring are applied at the discretion of The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring but always with best garment fit and finish as the priority. The client accepts that altering a dress is a deliberate modification to the dress, and not all alterations can be undone.

5. CUSTOMISATIONS - Any customization in the design of a garment is based on the information provided at the time of the client’s initial request for such customization. Some requested customizations may not be technically feasible or may be considered high-risk, and The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring cannot be held liable for changes to the dress if the client proceeds with such changes. Any changes in the design by the client after this initial request are subject to additional charges or may not be able be completed. Diagrams and fitting notes will serve as the written record for customization requests. Any dress customizations made outside the structure of the garment as received (i.e. original seams) are performed at the Client's own risk. Unless specifically agreed otherwise by The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring, clients are responsible for acquiring the proper materials for customisation, such as additional fabric, beads, lace, sleeves, etc. Clients are responsible for providing these materials to The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring in a timely manner that ensures the agreed fitting schedule can be maintained. If The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring specifically agree to obtain materials for customisation on the client’s behalf, these materials will be charged separately. In these cases, The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring will not be responsible for any delay in the availability of customization materials. Liaising with a third-party providing materials for customization is the clients risk and responsibility.

6. GARMENT COLLECTION - It is essential that all client’s inspect their garments and are completely satisfied with the condition of the fit and look before leaving The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring premises. All clients will be deemed to have accepted the quality of the alterations and final fitting when leaving The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring premises with a finished garment. The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring will not be liable for any discrepancies subsequently discovered. All invoices must be paid in full before the client’s dress can be released. Any client requiring another person to pick up a garment on their behalf must advise The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring accordingly and advise the name of that person. Acceptance and satisfaction with the services provided by The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring shall automatically be deemed to have occurred upon collections by either clients or persons collecting on the client’s behalf. Garments not collected from The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring within four months of the agreed collection date become the property of The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring. Within the four-month period, a garment will only be released to the client by The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring after the final balance, plus any storage charge, have been fully paid. Garments left with The Bobbin Bridal tailoring after the agreed collection date will incur a storage charge of £10 per week. Any garment becoming the property of The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring under this clause will be sold to recover costs incurred or loss of income by The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring.

7. SERVICE ISSUES - In no event will The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring be held liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, consequential, exemplary, or similar damages including without limitation, lost profits, loss of use, pain and suffering, or mental anguish, related to or arising out of the services provided. In no event will The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring be held liable for any damages related to or arising out of the services to a value more than the price paid by the Client for the service which is the subject of the claim. The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring will accept no responsibility a garment once the garment has been taken from The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring premises. This includes, but is not limited to wrinkling, stains, wear and tear from travel to/during ceremony and/or reception, bustles falling out from being stepped on, holding stitches failing or delicate lace, mesh or tulle ripping etc. It is essential that the client inspect the garment and is completely satisfied with the condition of the fit and look before taking it from the premises. Any issues with the services provided by The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring must be raised within 24 hours of final collection.

8. LATE COLLECTION - Garments not collected from The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring within four months of the agreed collection date become the property of The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring. Within the four-month period, a garment will only be released to the client by The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring after the final balance, plus any storage charge, have been fully paid. Garments left with The Bobbin Bridal tailoring after the agreed collection date will incur a storage charge of £10 per week. Any garment becoming the property of The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring under this clause will be sold to recover costs incurred or loss of income by The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring.

9. DISPUTE - The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring will make reasonable endeavors to resolve any dispute regarding service provided or Terms and Conditions. The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring decision is final. The Bobbin Bridal Tailoring reserves the right to refuse bridal alteration services or sales to any individual under any circumstances at any time.
